The Swiss invented the battery-powered watch. (They assumed it was a bad idea, and failed to protect the idea with a patent. The Japanese are grateful for the arrogance of the Swiss.) Myspace thought the key to global domination was a first-mover advantage. (Facebook proved that was a stupid assumption.) One of my most frequent Thinking Time questions is: “What Don’t I See?” I like it so much that it is on prominent display in my office, including as a screen saver on my computer.
