Not only is success hard to attain but it is fleeting and has to constantly be re-earned. The greatest enemy of future success is previous success. It's easy to forget how much work it took to reach the top once you’ve arrived. An incredible danger all successful people face is becoming addicted to the fruits of their labor to the point of neglecting the labor altogether. While one must find time to enjoy the results of their hard work, this cannot become a priority if they wish to remain successful. Thermodynamics teaches us that all systems move towards disorder. The more complex the system, the more rapidly it descends into disorder unless energy is put into maintaining it. Your success is a complex system and like all systems, it obeys this rule. If you aren’t putting energy into the system, the system will deteriorate. Once your success system deteriorates, then it becomes incapable of producing results.
