I just fired up my first AI analyst… and it actually worked.
I’ve been hunting for this for years:
Upload a broker’s OM, T‑12, and rent roll → get a usable underwriting model.
This week, I finally saw it happen with Shortcut AI.
Here’s what went down:
I uploaded the OM, T‑12, and rent roll.
The AI broke the files into chunks and started building my model.
In 20–30 minutes, I had a working template—like a junior analyst just cranked it out.
I even “talked” to it:
Found errors? I just said, “Check that number” or “Fix that assumption.”
It felt like managing a real analyst—only faster, cheaper, and no coffee breaks.
Takeaways:
Prompts are everything. The better you describe the job, the better the output.
Test your prompts in ChatGPT or Claude first. Shortcut AI will perform way better.
This is where we’re headed: verbal AI communication. Soon, we’ll just speak to our analysts—and they’ll be bots.
This wasn’t co‑pilot‑style “assistance.”
This was AI doing real work.
If you underwrite deals, you owe it to yourself to try this. The future is here—
…and it’s building models while you sip coffee. ☕
