I have a couple of tricks I use to help expand the number of possible choices. One is to frame the problem as a “How might I . . . so that I can . . .” question. “How might I generate an additional $20,000/month in profits so that we can afford to invest in a new building and double our capacity?” is a lot better than “Our profits suck” or “Why do our profits suck?” I also think about “How did it get this way? Why does it stay this way? How can I improve the way it looks?” The Road Less Stupid Keith J. Cunningham
